Farm-To-Forest Preschool
school year 2026-2027
Mon/Wed 10-2pm ages 3-6
Welcome to Farm-To-Forest Preschool where the great outdoors is our classroom and nature is the ultimate teacher. To a child, a day here is just pure, unbridled fun-splashing in the mud kitchen, exploring the forest, and playing together. But beneath all that joy, incredible learning is happening naturally.
Without even realizing it, our little explorers are becoming scientists. They are diving into STEM concepts through real-world environmental science, connecting deeply with the earth during hands-on farm animal studies, discovering how things grow in the garden, examining and climbing over logs, exploring the forest floor while they are walking through leaves and finding bugs, they are uncovering the wonders of nature
and the ecosystems around them.

nature inspired lesson plans
Our nature-inspired lesson plans effortlessly weave foundational language, literacy, and social emotional learning into the rhythm of collaborative play. We don't sit at desks to learn; instead, vocabulary comes alive as children describe the texture of tree bark or the behavior of farm animals, building rich language skills through real-world discovery. Storytime happens huddled under the canopy of trees, turning early literacy into a shared magical experience.
As children work together to build stick forts, navigate uneven forest trails, or share tools in the garden, they are naturally practicing crucial social-emotional skills. They learn to communicate their needs, listen to their peers, problem-solve as a team, and develop a deep sense of empathy and resilience. In this outdoor environment, every shared discovery becomes a natural lesson in confidence, cooperation, and connection.

Small class size
With our intentionally small class size, your child receives the close, gentle guidance they need to grow entirely at their own pace. In a smaller group, our educators truly get to know your child's unique personality, strengths, and fears-allowing us to meet them exactly where they are each day. Whether they need a patient hand while building the confidence to step across a trickling stream, or a quiet partner to help articulate a big emotion, they are never lost in a crowd. The cozy setting creates a safe, family-like atmosphere where children feel secure enough to take healthy risks, express their curiosity, and naturally blossom without pressure or rush.

The balance
Surrounded by trees and fresh air, we beautifully balance the high energy of active forest exploration with intentional moments of grounding and creative expression. After a morning of tracking animal trails or building forts, children transition into our studio spaces for creative science and eco and sensory art, where they paint with mud, sculpt with clay, leaves and flower petals, and create masterpieces after making natural paint out of berries or turmeric from the spice rack.
We also weave music, yoga, and dance right into the landscape-stretching like tall trees, mimicking the sounds of the birds, and moving our bodies freely in the open air. This rhythm of active adventure and mindful creation allows children to regulate their energy, process their experiences, and express their inner worlds. At Farm to Forest, we simply let kids be kids, falling in love with the world around them one muddy footprint at a time.
