where children's curiosity, wonder and play is encouraged through outdoor adventures, creative art classes, and a supportive learning environment that fosters growth and imagination.
Each week our preschool-based Caregiver/Child Families program for ages 18 months to 5 years old features a new park or destination to explore on our beautiful Island.

Our Teachers
Meet the Founder and Teacher:
"Teacher Meagan" who grew up in the Pacific Northwest is a dedicated mother of four grown children with a passion for the outdoors and the arts. With degrees in Early Childhood Education and Art, she has successfully owned and operated two Art studios and contracted out multiple classes offering preschool classes and creative Art for ages 12 months old to adult. Meagan has extensive experience as a birth and postpartum Doula and understands the importance of nurturing and supporting families. She has been teaching sensory Art classes, led parent/child classes at an outdoor preschool for several years, and has taught Art and Drama in multiple grade schools. This further enriching her understanding of community-based programs.Currently not only is she Director and Teacher at Whidbey Forest Friends she inspires the next generation of young artists conducting art workshops around the island and teaching in the afterschool Art program at the local Whidbey Waldorf school contracting for WILASC. Since moving to Whidbey in 2023 with her husband, they have started a small farm and are enjoying the close-knit island community.
Our Scuba Diver/ Teacher
Meet "Curtis" he is our Diver and co-Teacher for our SeaLife Live class. He grew up in the Pacific Northwest and is a father of three grown children. He spent a lot of time outdoors with his children while they were growing up -hiking and camping and going on adventures together. Curtis has been a diver for 13 years. He has hands-on Knowledge and experience handling precious Sealife and is very passionate about ocean conservation. He worked with the Sea Lab at Camp Casey who partnered with Emerald Sea Dive Club- which he is a part of. The divers were in charge of carefully bringing Sea creatures into specialized tanks for observation, teaching, and study for children.
Curtis says, " He has dove all over the world and our local waterways here in Washington are by far his favorite place to dive in our beloved Puget sound"



Meet Our school Assistant
Meet Teacher Grace!
Grace is our Teacher assistant that always has a smile on her face and an enthusiasm to teach. Shes an experienced babysitter and is currently working at the Children's center on her college campus with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. She is a 2nd year in college at UC Santa Barbara and is studying Biology with goals of being a pediatrician. You may see her helping out with the Sea Life Live classes and the Summer Camps.

Meet our School Assistant
Meet Teacher Joel!
Joel is a second-year student at the University of Washington studying neuroscience and freshwater ecology. Their experience in childcare has included working as a Behavioral Technician aiding children with autism, as well as being a camp counselor at music and outdoors camps. Joel loves spending their free time in the mountains and is excited to share their enthusiasm about nature with those around him.
